辽宁省卫生健康委积极协调各方力量，今年5月完成首批援密克罗尼西亚联邦中国医疗队组队工作，全体队员于近期圆满完成了为期3个月的出国前综合能力集训。按照统一安排部署，援派密克罗尼西亚联邦医疗任务由锦州医科大学牵头负责，该批医疗队7名队员由锦州医科大学及附属第一医院选派，涵盖泌尿外科、口腔外科、耳鼻喉外科、消化内科、护理以及中医针灸科等专业。

辽宁作为承担国家援外医疗任务较多的省份之一，自1966年开启医疗援外工作以来，共向也门、科威特、阿尔巴尼亚等3个国家累计派出99批2375人次医疗队员；向冈比亚派出7批长期医疗队71人，1批9人“短期抗疫专家组”和1批10人“光明行”眼科义诊专家组。同时开展对口医院合作机制项目，建成冈比亚妇产科腔镜中心。
