在开幕式上，北京朝阳国家文化产业创新实验区管理委员会副主任王春清表示，《山海经》作为中华民族神话记忆的宝库，一直闪耀着独特的想象力和创造力。邱启敬、邱黯雄、邱宇三位艺术家的联展，是对这一传统文化的现代诠释。他们的探索和创作，不仅展现了《山海经》的传承，也为观众带来了深刻的文化体验。此次展览可谓传统与现代、艺术与科技结合的典范。

艺术家邱启敬表示，围绕山海经主题他已创作十二年，书中469只神兽被复现了近100只。此次团队特别创作了“混沌”这一串联整场展览的作品。“这是五年前开始构思的一个方案，‘七窍出而混沌死’饱含人生哲理。不只‘混沌’，山海经里的每一只神兽背后都有复杂构思，对人生有启示作用，这也是我喜欢山海经的原因之一。”
